As you can see from all of these photos, the building is seriously gorgeous on its own. Ellen and Chris's floral designer, Jeff from York Flowers, expertly designed each arrangement for the space that would hold it, gilding the space with spectacular pieces that he and his team mostly built on site.
After a cocktail hour featuring music by The DC Transit Band's jazz combo, Ellen's parents welcomed the wedding guests to the party.
After the welcome, the multiple dining rooms were formally opened. Now seriously, are these rooms not amazingly gorgeous? And note that the flowers are color-keyed to each room. So lovely.
That beautiful wedding cake was designed by Ellen and Chris and created by Fancy Cakes by Leslie.
After dinner came the first dance, leading into one of the finest dance parties I've ever seen. There's just something about a live band, and it's hard to beat the DC Transit Band. They're excellent musicians with awesome energy, and they're great at reading the crowd and keeping guests on their feet all night long.
Ellen made a special point of getting a photo with her college friends and their families, which is a trend we're seeing a lot lately — and loving!
Next up, Ellen and Chris's exquisite formal photos!
These awesome Washington, D.C., wedding vendors contributed to Ellen and Chris's wedding day, and every last one did a fabulous job. Thanks again to all of them!
