I was delighted to be invited to Woodlawn's 2016 Wedding Planner Open House last week, and I thought you'd probably like to see some photos from the event, which was a ton of fun.
Woodlawn, for those of you who aren't familiar, is an historic property in Alexandria, Virginia, near Mount Vernon. In fact, George Washington gave the house to his step-granddaughter and his nephew as their wedding gift. Not too shabby, eh? You can read more about that at Woodlawn's webpage.
For their open house, Woodlawn and their exclusive caterer, Rouge Catering, set up the property for a small mock wedding. There were ceremony chairs and a floral arch on the side lawn, cocktails in the fountain garden, and games on the lawn in front of the house. It was charming!
Inside the house, Rouge had a tantalizing spread of dishes available to sample and Buzz Bakeshop shared their delicious tiny cupcakes (the chocolate with chocolate icing was amazing!).
Select Event Group showed off some of the newest items in their collection, turning a side room into a lovely little dining space.
I had a great afternoon seeing the property and visiting with other area wedding planners. Thanks so much for inviting me, Woodlawn! Can't wait to work with you on a gorgeous Virginia wedding.
