About a month ago I got an email from a soon-to-be-bride named Alana. She'd seen the chalkboard table numbers I did last fall for my Birkby House couple and for Holly Chapple, and wondered if I could create some for her in time for her Memorial Day weekend wedding. I was happy to rush some through for her and, although she and her fiance (now husband!) Chuck live in New York City, their wedding just happened to be here in Northern Virginia! I got to hand-deliver the chalkboards and meet her very fun family. Because the wedding was on a patriotic holiday weekend, I couldn't resist styling the chalkboards with that in mind when I shot these photos. My favorite patriotic decoration has to be bunting, so I sketched large numbers with a bunting backdrop.
Then I continued the theme with some cute little fireworks.
Alana liked the neutral brown tones of the chalkboards I'd made for Holly and asked for the same color combo in hers. See the brown undercoat peeking through?
You can see the brown even better here. Warm, rustic, almost antique, and just right for Alana and Chuck's once-in-a-lifetime wedding reception.
Thanks so much, Alana and Chuck, for asking me to contribute to your wedding day! It was a joy meeting you and your family, and I hope your wedding day was just perfect.
Lots of love from our studio to you. Have a happy marriage!
